Phimosis Creams
There are basically 2 types of creams that can be used to cure phimosis. One is steroid cream containing betamethasone and the other being non-steroidal, something like e45. The fundamental role of a phimosis cream is to increase elasticity of the f-skin, and keep the region healthy.
1. Steroid cream
If there’s anything that’ll aid in curing phimosis the fastest then it’ll be a steroid cream.
The steroid cream we are talking here is betamethasone cream, betamethasone dipropionate 0.05% or 0.1%
Most people with phimosis have found good results by using steroid creams.
But it comes with a catch, f-skin is a sensitive element of our bodies and f-skin can be easily manipulated in a kid than when you’re an adult. This has been observed by us as well, using only steroid cream will do little help unless you combine it with f-skin stretching exercises and use phimosis rings as well.
What does steroid cream exactly do?
Phimosis steroid cream helps in loosening the f-skin, it reduces the rigidity and increases the flexibility of f-skin. Phimosis steroid cream actually reduces or almost stops the formation of collagen where it is applied, here f-skin. It is vital to suppress the collagen since it is the collagen which gives the skin it’s elasticity and stretchiness. This makes the f-skin to loosen up and thereby helps in easy gliding over glans.
How and when to use?
The steroid cream for phimosis is best used when it is applied at night time and left over night.
It should be applied over f-skin and never underneath it. A small pea size portion of the cream is enough to be applied on the f-skin.
The cream should be applied from the tip of the f-skin upto the glans and applied only once a day, better yet once every 2 days. Steroid cream can have it’s effect for over 48 hours since application.
If you’re using phimosis rings (which you must for faster and sustaining results), then apply the cream after using phimosis rings. Make sure to clean both inside and outside of f-skin with warm water and wipe the water with a towel before applying the steroid cream for overnight.
Word of caution
Excessive use of steroid cream can cause damage to f-skin, it’s a topical steroid, you gotta be careful in using it. This is the reason why most countries don’t allow over the counter sale of steroid cream and you’ll need a prescription to purchase it from pharmacy stores.

Phimosis Oils
The best oils are the ones that lubricate the best. Guess which kind of oils are the best lubricants? Extra-virgin coconut oil, extra-virgin castor oil, emu oil, and zinc-castor oil.
3. Extra-virgin coconut oil
In an extremely sensitive area such as f-skin and glans, it is only the best that you’d want to apply. Studies indicate that extra-virgin coconut oil is best in treating phimosis because of these reasons:
- The fatty acids contained in extra-virgin coconut oil helps prevent fungal growth in the groin region and keeps the skin and the whole region healthy.
- It is cheap, easy to use, natural and readily available everywhere.
Why only extra-virgin?
This is because it only the extra-virgin coconut oil that is cold pressed, and free from impurities. Only an extra-virgin coconut oil has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
Helpful for sensitive glans
A lot of people who have phimosis also have an extremely sensitive glans, so sensitive that even touching it sends shivers down the spine, if this is you, then coconut oil and castor oil are the only thing that can help you here.
Now, for a healthy sex life you need glans which are not-so-sensitive, and to do that you’ll need to apply coconut oil before doing stretching exercised to make the f-skin lubricated enough, also you’ll have to pour some oil on the inside of your f-skin so that it reaches glans and lubricates glans as well.
Use one of your finger and try touching the glans (note that there should be a little layer of coconut oil over glans). Repeatedly doing this 10-20 times per day will help in gradually reducing sensitivity of glans.
However, for sensitive glans treatment, extra-virgin castor oil is better than coconut oil because of it’s higher viscosity.
How and when to use?
Extra-virgin coconut oil is basically a natural lubricant, therefore you’ll be using it when you are using treatphimosis rings, and while doing stretching exercises. Coconut oil can be applied inside as well outside of the f-skin, and on the complete groin area. It’ll only help to keep the region healthy and fungus free.
How to know your coconut oil extra virgin?
Most extra-virgin coconut oil labelled as extra-virgin however, we know that not every company is as honest as they’d like us to think.
An extra virgin coconut oil has 2 special properties:
1. It will have a slight yellow tint to it.
2. The smell or fragrance will be natural and mild, and you can mostly make out that no perfume is used. Just remember the keyword, yellow tint, natural and mild.

4. Extra-virgin castor oil
Extra-virgin, cold-pressed castor oil is an excellent replacement for topical steroids and skin care cosmetics. If you’re looking to treat phimosis naturally at home, extra-virgin castor oil is your best bet.
Though their anti-fungal content isn’t as high as the creams but it is highest in an oil (natural).
Why only extra-virgin?
This is because only the extra-virgin castor oil which is cold pressed, and free from impurities will contain the properties effective for phimosis treatment.
Best for sensitive glans
We already mentioned in the extra virgin coconut oil section why and how it works.
The primary advantage castor oil has over coconut oil is that the molecules of castor are thick enough to not penetrate the skin and are hence not absorbed. This helps to make a layer of castor oil over glans when applied over it. Since there’s a thick layer formed, it is easier to practice touching the glans with finger.
How and when to use?
Usage is same as coconut oil.

5. Zinc-castor oil
Zinc-castor oil is mostly used as an ingredient in creams for treating eczema, inflammation, rashes, and chapped skin. They are great at forming barrier on skin so that the fungal infection can be fought with better.
However, in case of phimosis, creams containing zinc oxide and castor oils can be used but it wouldn’t be as effective as fore-stretch cream or steroid creams. Primary focus in phimosis is about loosening the skin, which this zin-castor oil combo does but not so effectively. Moreover, it is not readily available hence less used.
6. Emu oil
Emu oil is all the rage these days and it derives its fame from it’s long range of utilities in skin care, cosmetics and herbal medicines. Native to Australia, this oil has the skin care nutrients in abundance, such as, Omega-6, Omega-3, and Omega-9.
Emu oil has also excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which makes it a great oil to keep the pubic region healthy.
Will Emu oil help in phimosis?
An honest answer would be, No. It can’t help a great deal in curing phimosis however if you have emu oil at home and want to finish it, it can be used as an alternative to extra-virgin coconut oil. It is a healthy oil, and doesn’t has any side-effects, effective as a lubricant and causes no harm if used.
